Sainte Foy Tarentaise, Aesthetic paradise in Haute Tarentaise…*
Sainte Foy is the youngest of the ski stations in the French Alps, and will celebrate its 30 years being open this year. The English loved this place for its typically "French way of life". Today, the station has become an insider's tip for families and international clientele who are in unanimous search of absolute calm and authenticity.
We whisper the destination, but not too loudly! - It is our little secret!
We whisper the destination, but not too loudly! - It is our little secret!
Situated at 1550m altitude at the well named 'Bon Conseil', the ski resort overlooks the old village of Sainte Foy, the main town, through which one passes to get to the magical ski resorts of Tignes and Val d'Isère about twenty kilometres and a few road bends away. Imagine, that this small village had electricity before Val d'Isère back in the day!
The Sainte Foy ski resort took its time in developing. By trying above all not to reproduce certain typical mistakes of the times where people would build all over the place in the resorts, it seems that the gamble paid off today even more than before in the current climate. Sainte Foy is one of the most natural and beautiful of these resorts thanks to this decision.

Traditional chalets made of wood, stone and slate
Its architecture is cleverly modelled on the very traditional chalets made of wood, cut stone and Italian slate that make up the many villages and hamlets that make up the commune of Sainte Foy. There are no more than thirty of them. With the attention to detail and rigour that the locals imposed on themselves, the new chalets feature stone columns, a symbol of the wealth once imported from the neighbouring Italian valley of Aosta.
